SMPS


SMPS : SWITCH MODE POWER SUPPLY

It supply the power all components in your PC .

It convert the current A/C to D/C.
There are 2 type of SMPS ,they are
1) AT :(Advanced Technology)
2) ATX: (Advanced Technology Extended)


AT







AT it consist of 12 pins.








While you are connecting AT SMPS to the mother board black & black wire should be middle.

In AT SMPS on/off switch is directly connected SMPS to cabinet so AT SMPS is manual shutdown system.

In this model after shutdown the system you have switch off power button by your self.





ATX

ATX it consists of 20 (or ) 24 pins.











While you are connecting ATX SMPS to the mother board it is lock type system.

In ATX SMPS on/off switch is directly connected SMPS to mother board so AT X SMPS is automatic shutdown system.

In this model after shutdown the system no need to switch off your self ,it’s automatically
